3-1/4" aluminum cap on aluminum pipe in a collar of stones; rising 8"
Start from the Pole Creek Trailhead which is generally SW, 12.2 miles by road from the Sisters Ranger Station. From the west end of the parking lot, travel generally N on FR1500-700 for about 0.1 miles. Continue cross country, W for about 0.7 miles to the corner. There are two U-posts. LAND SURVEY MONUMENT and NATIONAL FOREST WILDERNESS signs are mounted on one which bears N, 62" distant. A NATIONAL FOREST WILDERNESS sign is mounted on the other which bears E, 64" distant. There is a reference monument, a 2" aluminum cap on 5/8" rebar driven nearly flush with the ground, which bears WSW, 10'1" distant. In addition there is a 43" diameter ponderosa pine which bears ESE, about 155' distant. The tree has a scribed blaze which is painted red, a yellow BEARING TREE tag, a LAND SURVEY MONUMENT sign on the backside and a 1-1/2" brass washer, stamped PLS 2396, affixed to the side center at the root crown with a magnetic nail.
Based on field measured GPS UTM grid coordinates, the present angle point bears S89.6°W from WAYMARK WMPZ42, 2323' distant.
