The "2-Pfennig-Brücke" was built in 1890 by a citizens' association in order to get a faster connection to the train station on the other side of Fulda.
The construction costs amounted to 20,000 marks and then to bring the costs back, was instituted by any passersby take a toll in the amount of 2 Pfennig. This honorable task has a bridge guard who was on duty conscientiously in a specially-built cottage.
