First mill on this site was built in 1825. The mill now existing was built in 1879 after a fire in 1878

The oldest portion of the existing mill was built in 1879 after a fire in 1878. There are sections, that were built in the 20th century. The earliest mill (1825) was powered by water, however with the rebuilding a boiler plant was added and then powered by steam.
