Mary Proctor's grave was unmarked prior to 2014 when a granite headstone, funded by Evergreen Cemetery, was erected at her grave site. Also in 2014, a monument, funded by the Jacksonville Beach Lifeguard Foundation, was erected near her grave site.

on Sunday, July 7, 1912.
At the Time She was One of the Most
Well Known Registered Nurses
in Jacksonville.
Her Drowning Prompted
Clarence H. McDonald, Jacksonville's
Supervisor of Public Recreation, and
Lyman G. Haskell, MD, Physical
Education Director of the Jacksonville Y.M.C.A.
to Form the United States Volunteer Life Saving
Corps, Station I, that Same Year. This Group of
Volunteer Life Savers, Now the American Red
Cross Volunteer Life Saving Corps, Coast Guard
Division I, Has Served Jacksonville and Its
Beaches for Over 100 Years.
This Monument, Designed to Resemble the
Tower at the Corps' Station, was
Installed in 2014.
