Sgt. Henley is
memorialized on the Honolulu Memorial (Courts of the Missing, Court 4) at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, HI. He served in the 27th Regiment of the U.S. Marine Corps, and is listed as having been buried at sea. The actual details of his death are unknown, although one can speculate that he was killed during the initial invasion of the island.

HENLEY, T.B. (Mutt) Sgt. Son of Mr. and Mrs. W.D. Henley. Entered the Marines in July 1942, trained at San Diego, CA. Served at Pearl Harbor and Iwo Jima. Has Purple Heart, Combat Ribbon and other honors. Killed in Action February 19, 1945 on Iwo Jima.
