Presné datum zbudování této sakrální stavby se nepodarilo zjistit.
Vzhled stavby odpovídá osmnáctému století a pravdepodobne se do dnešních dnu príliš nezmenil. Zvonicka leží v nadmorské výšce 541 metru a je vzdálena 85 m od sochy sv. Vavrince. Tato kameno-cihlová dominanta centra naší obce je vysoká deset metru, z toho zdená cást má 4,4 metry a rozmer pudorysu je 3 x 3 metry. Medeným plechem opláštená vež je ukoncena kovaným krížem. Drevená konstrukce veže ukrývá zvon z roku 1950, který má prumer 45 cm a výšku 40 cm. Bez srdce váží 50 kg a má ladení a' (440 Hz), kované srdce váží 7 kg. Na zvonu je nápis „SV. VAVRINEC – L. P. 1950“ a na protilehlé strane je text „VENOVALA P. K. Ž-D Z VAVRINCE“. V horní cásti zvonu je uveden výrobce „Z. U. K. CESKÁ U BRNA“.

V prucelí kaplicky jsou umísteny elektrické hodiny, pod kterými jsou prosklené dvere chránené okrasnou mríží vyrobenou kovárem Sykou z Nemcic. Uvnitr kaplicky byl vystaven kamenný výklenek dva metry vysoký, metr široký a hlouboký pul metru. Znázornuje jeskyni, v níž se nachází dve drevené sochy: klecící dívka sv. Bernadetta – výška 1 m a Panna Marie Lurdská – výška 1,5 m. Na malém oltári je krížek a oltární plátno nese vyšitý nápis „AVE MARIA“. O opravách zvonicky se nedochovaly žádné informace,
ale urcite k nim docházelo. První již zaznamenaná velká oprava probehla
v roce 1950 pri instalaci nového zvonu. Byla vynucena tím, že následkem hniloby došlo k narušení drevené konstrukce krovu. Puvodní kulatou vež demontoval
Josef Musil z cp. 1. Drevenou konstrukci nového tvaru zhotovili tesari Emil Kakác z cp. 79 a Vojtech Krátký z cp. 87. Klempírské práce provedl vavrinecký rodák Alois Slouka z Kurimi. Pri této oprave byla vytvorena zminovaná umelá jeskyne. Nekteré historické prameny uvádejí, že kaplicka pochází z 18. století. O puvodním zvonu nebo zvonech, které byly ve veži, se bohužel nic neví. Smutný osud potkal v roce 1943 zvon z této kaplicky, který byl zabaven na válecné úcely. Následujícího dne, kdy zvonicka na návsi utichla, zacal zvonit Jan Hejc, bednár z cp. 31. Klepáním na zavešený cinel oznamoval poledne a vecerní klekání. Po nejaké dobe byl do naší kaplicky zavešen jen železný vykutý zvon od pana Vašícka z cp. 30. Tento, pricinením príslušníku rodiny Ševcíkových z cp. 20 („u Havlu“), vyzvánel až do roku 1950.

V roce 2004 byla kaplicka zrekonstruována do nynejší podoby. Duvodem byl velmi špatný stav zdiva, omítek a drevené cibulovité veže. Za pouhé tri mesíce byly provedeny veškeré stavební úpravy a vznikla nová vež, do níž byl zavešen puvodní zvon, který je nove ovládaný radiovým signálem z atomových hodin ve Franfurktu nad Mohanem. Modernizace byla nutná, jelikož poruchy zvonení byly stále castejší. Presto, že starší mechanizmus byl po dlouhá léta odborne serizován Janem Kakácem z cp. 90, obcas se muselo zvonit rucne (vetšinou Jan Porízek z cp. 42).Nyní zvon vyzvání trikrát denne. Klekání je nastaveno na 7. a 19. hodinu, zvon zní po dobu dvou minut. Délka zvonení byla dána dobou potrebnou pro modlidbu Andel Páne, pri které se klecelo – odtud klekání. Poledne je oznamováno tri minuty. Mimo odborných fi rem se na oprave podíleli vavrinecní obcané, kterí odpracovali 300 hodin. Obnova znacne ponicené a sešlé kaplicky si vyžádala 250 tisíc korun z obecního rozpoctu a místní verící prispeli cástkou 10 000 Kc ze sbírek porádaných pri mších. Oprava kaplicky byla zakoncena na vavrineckou pout mší svatou, kterou sloužil kaplan František Putna ze sloupské farnosti za úcasti pocetné verejnosti z Vavrince a okolí.
