EN: "Sonnengesang" (Canticle of the Sun) is a fountain with three jets and a twelve meter high iron sculpture by edelbert w. bregy in a traffic circle in Naters.
The ten-tons heavy sculpture was created in 2007 entirely from 500 meters of rail of the degraded side line of the Matterhorn-Gotthard railway, which led through Naters just a few meters away. The four-tons heavy ball at the top symbolizes the sun; it is composed of 720 transversely sawed rail pieces. The three carriers stand for the miter in the coat of arms of Naters.
DE: "Sonnengesang" ist ein Brunnen mit drei Düsen und einer zwölf Meter hohen Eisenplastik von edlebert w. bregy in einem Kreisverkehr in Naters.
Die zehn Tonnen schwere Plastik entstand 2007 vollständig aus 500 Metern Schienen der abgebauten Nebenstrecke der Matterhorn-Gotthard-Bahn, die nur wenige Meter entfernt durchführte. Die vier Tonnen schwere Kugel an der Spitze symbolisiert die Sonne; sie aus 720 quer zersägten Schienenstücken zusammengesetzt. Die drei Träger stehen für die Mitra im Wappen von Naters.
