From the Sisters Ranger Station, travel generally W, first on US20 then ORE242, for 1.6 miles to the junction with FR15. Turn left and continue 9.5 miles to the junction with FR1526. Turn left and continue about 3.6 miles to FR1514-500. Continue on FR1514-500 for 0.8 miles to a bulldozer fire line on the right which connects to FR1514-600. At the top of the hill, turn left and continue about 0.2 mile, then walk cross-country about 400' W to section corner T16 R9E S19 20 29 30 COR. Based on field measured GPS UTM grid coordinates, the present quarter corner bears S0.5°E, 2641' distant.
Type of survey mark: 2-1/2" aluminum cap on aluminum pipe in mound of stones; rising 7"
What indicators are near the mark to help people identify where it is located?: There is a LAND SURVEY MONUMENT sign mounted on a U-post which bears N, 3' distant. In addition there are four reference monuments, 2" aluminum caps on 5/8" rebar driven flush with the ground. The NE and NW ones are about 10' distant, and the two SE and SW are about 20' distant.
What property is this mark defining?: The quarter corner is on the Three Sisters Wilderness boundary, although it is not a numerated angle point
