A 20' high by 45' diameter cast iron two-basin fountain is painted white. It is topped with a female figure with her right hand above her head and a staff in her left hand. She stands above a scalloped bowl whose stem is decorated with by birds. The lower basis is an octagon with four mermen kneeling while holding horns to their lips. The fountain was dedicated on July 5, 1870.
Four sides of the octagon carry the following inscriptions:

SOLDIERS
MEMORIAL FOUNTAIN
RESTORED/REDEDICATED P.U.R.A. NOV. 11, 1977
