Der Knopfmacherfelsen ist ein natürlicher Felsvorsprung auf 765 m ü. NN in der Kalkwand und dient seit vielen Jahren als Aussichtspunkt im Naturpark Obere Donau. Der Aussichtspunkt wurde 2006 neu gestaltet. In der Nähe befinden sich ein Parkplatz und ein Restaurant. Wie um viele andere Felsen der Region rankt sich auch hier eine kleine Sage: am 4. April 1823 soll am Knopfmacherfelsen der Knopfmacher Fidelis Martin abgestürzt sein, nachdem ihm eine weibliche Sagengestalt hierher geführt hatte (siehe Infotafel an der Plattform).
The Knopfmacherfelsen, a rocky outcrop, is a viewpoint in the Upper Danube Nature Park, between Fridingen an der Donau and Beuron. From 765 meters above sea level the platform opens up a broad view of the Danube Valley. There is a parking area at the restaurant nearby. The name Knopfmacherfelsen goes back to the following small legend: on April 4, 1823 tthe craftsman Fidelis Martin was with his horse on the market in Tuttlingen before. On the way back to Beuron at night he met the legendary "Hardt Miss". She led him up to the steep rock, where man and horse rushed into the depths.
