Edwin A. Reitz, a resident of Eureka Springs, was born Feb. 27, 1907, in Brookville, PA, a son of Edwin Allen Sr. and Elizabeth Rice (Reitz). He died Friday, Oct. 26, 2007, at the age of 100.

Mr. Reitz was a machinist in the steel industry. He is survived by two daughters, Ellen and husband James White of California and Shirley Dobbs of Eureka Springs; one son, Paul Reitz and wife Dorothy of Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.

On Aug. 24, 1926, he was united in marriage with Margaret J. Bruner, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded by his parents and seven brothers and sisters.

Edwin and his wife moved to Arkansas after he retired at the age of 65. Surviving children: Ellen and husband James of Hesperia [San Berardino County], Calif.; Paul Reitz and wife Dorothy of Cochranton [Crawford County, PA]; and Shirley Dobbs of Eureka Springs [Carroll County, Ark. He died in the Eureka Springs Hospital.
