Adam Leis (* 16.

Adam Leis
geboren am 16. Juli 1892
in Frankfurt am Main
wurde wegen seines
Widerstandes gegen die NS-Diktatur
am 17. September 1942
in Frankfurt-Preungesheim
hingerichtet.
Er lebte in diese Haus
von Mitte der dreißiger
Jahre bis 1942 gemeinsam

Adam Leis (* 16 July 1892 in Frankfurt am Main; † 17 September 1942 Frankfurt-Preungesheim) was KPD member and resistance fighter against Nazism. Since the mid 30s, he lived with his family in this house. Leis was several times imprisoned for Communist activities, from 1939, Leis organized political training sessions in pubs in Frankfurt and at his home, disguised as skat evenings. A meeting on Whit Monday 1941 with leaders of the illegal group around Anton Breitinger was betrayed by an informer. They were charged in the Volksgerichtshof for conspiracy to commit high treason and sentenced to death. On September 17, 1942 Adam Leis was executed in the prison of Frankfurt-Preungesheim.
