There is no sign at the Museum to indicate the artist or date. The bust is part of a display to commemorate John F. Kennedy's speech on May 25, 1961 in which he proclaimed that the United States would strive to send a man to the Moon before the end of the decade.
The life-sized bust depicts Kennedy as he looked when he served as President.
