Friedrich Wannieck se narodil 18. cervence 1838 v Brne na Kobližné 33/35, jako tretí ze ctyr detí v rodine postrihace sukna Johanna Wanniecka. Ve svých 27 letech (1865) zacal sám podnikat - založil malou strojní továrnu na zahrade svého domu na Trnité, která se stala zárodkem budoucího areálu Vankovky. O tri roky pozdeji (1868) se oženil s Victorií von Robert.
Jediný syn Friedrich Oskar se jim narodil 4.12.1872 v Brne, dcera Margaretha o šest let pozdeji (31.8.1878) - už v letním rodinném sídle v Želešicích.
Tento prumyslník se podílel na nekolika stavbách a byl zakladatelem ruzných továren. V Želešicích krome jeho rodinného sídla najdete ovocnárskou školku, která dnes slouží jako penzion a restaurace.
