This local landmark becomes the Pineville Sheriff Office in this 2012 Disney Film. Only the front entrance to the building is shown, rather briefly, around 47:35.
Although the inside of the Pineville Sheriffs Office is seen in several scenes, the outside is only shown once (around 1:02:50). In this scene, Eli and Eddy (two of Santa's elves) drive to the Sheriff Office to see if they can free Mrs. Claus from Jail. You will notice in the photo below that we do not see Eli or Eddy, instead we only see the pink ice cream truck:
This is what the building looked like when I visited on June 21, 2015; in comparison with the movie, you will notice that very little was changed to the building for the movie. The flags were removed but the mounting hardware was left in-place. The "Fernie Livery & Transfer Company" sign was blacked out, and the "Pineville Sheriff Office" sign was put in place. What I also noticed in the film is the sky - the towering Rocky Mountains in the background are shrouded in cloud. Maybe that was just the weather on film day, or maybe that was added to hide the prominent and recognizable Three Sisters Mountain
A plot summary of Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups
When Mrs. Claus travels to Pineville, the playful Santa Pups stow away on her sled. Taking mischief to a whole new level, they begin granting joyful wishes to Pineville's boys and girls, but after a furious young boy named Carter wishes for the Christmas spirit to disappear, it affects all of the people in town. Mrs. Claus, Carter, Sarah, the pups, and three sisters named Agnes, Dorothy and Blue that Mrs. Claus met try to bring the Christmas spirit back forever. They do this by airing on the radio and convincing everyone to act like normal. Carter wishes for the Christmas spirit to last forever all over the world. The pups are then able to reverse the wish. Pineville was filmed in Fernie, British Columbia. (source: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Santa_Paws_2:_The_Santa_Pups).
