This work is one of dozens of pieces by Icelandic artist Ásmundur Sveinsson for whom the adjacent Museum is named.
It is entitled "Saemundur a seinum". "Seine" is Icelandic for "stone" but an internet search revealed no information for "Saemundur". It is possible that it is a proper name. The sculpture depicts a classically heroic nude man sits atop a creature (a bird?, a dragon?) and seems to be about to bash it with a Bible. Presumably this is allegorical but it is a mystery for now.
