FindaGrave.com lists over 4,300 internments in Mountain Cemetery. There are many well-known local figures buried here including the grave of Mariano Guadalupe Vallejo, the founder of Sonoma. Also located somewhere in the cemetery is the grave of Capt. William Smith, the only known American Revolutionary veteran buried in the state of California.
