EN: The Antonius Chapel is located south of the Stockalper Castle in the old town of Brig. It was built around 1304 along with the hospital.

The long building is assembled with the neighboring building. IT was first expanded and rebuilt in the late Gothic style in 1494, in the 18th century again in the Baroque style. The bell tower collapsed in an earthquake in 1851 and was rebuilt in neo-Gothic style in 1856. The bell dates from 1396.

In the past, the horses of the peasants were solemnly blessed in front of the chapel on 17 January, the feast of St. Anthony the Hermit.
