Built in 1926 to replace an earlier fire station (1901) located nearby, the former fire station was decommissioned in 1957 and became the brigade training base for the next 5 years , afterwhich it was sold to a private enterprise and is now used as a residence.
The former two storey North Perth Fire Station is one of only five built in the inter-war era to exist in the metropolitan area, originally the words "Fire Station" were on the front between the ground and first floors.
