The South-Western corner of the City Hall in München, Germany, Bayern is called 'Wurmeck' (Dragon's Corner). This name is based on a local legend from the Middle Ages. The location is presented on an old photo of 1910.
The local legend says that in the middle ages a dragon has lended at this location in the center of München and tried to bring death and plague into the city. Some brave men fighted the dragon and killed it here with a cannon. Since then the 'Schäffer' (cooper) do a traditional annual dancing to remember.
The sculpture consists of copper. It has been created by Anton Kaindl and Hygin Kiene.
