In Portland, within Back Cove, is the Yardscaping Demonstration Garden.
The display is located near the athletic fields, south of Back Cove. There is a parking lot off Preble Street. From there, walk generally southeast along the path to the yardscaping display.
The display is a kiosk with panels that describe the area and the plants planted there. There are several plots with plants, and it appeared that more was being planted. The web site states that there are 2 1/2 acres dedicated to this project.
Volunteers do the planting and maintenance. Other organizations and companies donate to the is project.
