You tour the house at your own pace. The artwork is scattered throughout the house which is furnished to match the period when the Reynolds lived here. The house was built in 1917. The house originally occupied the center of a 1,067-acre estate. Some of the land was donated to create Wake Forest University. The house opened to the public as an art museum in 1967. Surrounding the house is a lovely garden.
