This work is one of dozens of pieces by Icelandic artist Ásmundur Sveinsson for whom the adjacent Museum is named.
It is entitled "Kona med Amor" which translates to "Woman with Love" but Amor may also refer to the alternate name used for Eros or Cupid.
It depicts a somewhat larger-than-life nude woman, standing and holding and infant up to the sky as if seeking a blessing. The bronze sculpture is dated 1927.
