This work is one of dozens of pieces by Icelandic artist Ásmundur Sveinsson for whom the adjacent Museum is named.
It is entitled "Kossinn" which I believe is some variation of "kiss" in Icelandic.
The 1924 marble sculpture depicts a young nude couple, the man standing behind the woman whose body is not facing him ..but she twists her face around for the two to kiss.
