Start from the Pole Creek Trailhead which is generally SW, 12.2 miles by road from the Sisters Ranger Station. From the west end of the parking lot, travel generally N on FR1500-700 for about 2.1 miles to the corner on the right, N about 225' distant.
Type of survey mark: 2-1/2" brass cap on steel pipe in a collar of stones; rising 6"
What indicators are near the mark to help people identify where it is located?: The corner is in a burned area. There is a LAND SURVEY MONUMENT sign mounted on a U-post which bears N, 33" distant. Found three burned snags, each with a scribed blaze and a 1-1/2" brass washer, stamped PLS 2396 and fastened with a magnetic nail. Also found a rock outcrop, bearing SSW about 50' distant. X BO is chiseled on the rock, and there is a 1-1/2" brass washer, stamped PLS 2396, on a magnetic nail.
