This work is presumably one of dozens of pieces by Icelandic artist Ásmundur Sveinsson for whom the adjacent Museum is named. Unfortunately, there is no plaque accompanying this sculpture...but it definitely has many similarities to Sveinsson's other works on display.
This marble sculpture depicts a man and woman hugging each other closely while sitting and squatting.
