Benchmark set by the U.S. Coast & Geodetic Survey in 1942. The benchmark is located along F.S. Rd. 4660 an early road from Odell Lake to Elk Lake (replaced by today’s Cascade Lakes Hwy).

DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1943 8.9 MI N FROM CRESCENT LAKE. ABOUT 8.9 MILES NORTH ALONG THE ELK LAKE ROAD FROM THE RAILROAD STATION AT CRESCENT LAKE, KLAMATH COUNTY, 4.9 MILES NORTH OF STATE HIGHWAY 58, 1.3 MILES SOUTH OF DAVIS LAKE RANGER STATION, AT A ROAD INTERSECTION, 33.0 FEET NORTH OF A SIGN POST, 30.0 FEET EAST OF THE CENTER LINE OF THE ELK LAKE ROAD, PROJECTING ABOUT 8-INCHES ABOVE THE GROUND, 2.0 FEET WEST OF A WHITE REFERENCE POST.
This description is out of date but the location is shown on the USGS Odell Lake quadrangle. The benchmark can be reached from the junction of F.S. Rds. 4660, 4664, and 4668 south east of Davis Lake. From the junction go northeast on F.S. Rd. 4660 for 0.20 miles to location of PB0514. The benchmark is located about 30 feet east of road centerline.
