Stavba kostela byla dokoncena r. 1758 podle projektu Josefa Emanuela Fischera z Erlachu na míste budovy kostela pripomínaného již r. 1339. Soucástí vnitrního zarízení je obraz Umucení sv. Štepána od Ignáce Weidlicha z. r. 1787, varhany postavené Josefem Silberbauerem r. 1786 s kartuší rodových znaku Althanu a Hardeku a novobarokní kalich s tepanou akantovou výzdobou od vídenského zlatníka K.M. z r. 1847. Ve veži je zavešen zvonek s nápisem v azbuce z r. 1890, který do obce prinesli po r. 1945 novoosídlenci z Volyne. Do r. 1832 byl kostel obklopen hrbitovem, po nemž se do dnešních dnu dochovaly klasicistní kamenné pomníky dnes prisazené ke kostelní zdi.

Construction of the church was completed r. 1758 by Josef Emanuel Fischer von Erlach in place the building of the church first mentioned r. 1339. The internal device is painting The Martyrdom of St. From Ignatius Stephen Weidlich zr 1787 organ built by Josef Silberbauer r. 1786 with cartouche ancestral characters Althan and Hardeku and Neo-Baroque cup with acanthus decoration wrought by the Viennese goldsmith KM from r. 1847. In the tower hangs a bell with an inscription in Cyrillic from 1890., who brought to the village after r. 1945 novoosídlenci from Volhynia. To r. 1832 the church was surrounded by a cemetery, after which to this day preserved classicist stone monuments now pushed to the church wall.
