A sign at the church reads:

"'The Annunciation', "Saint Anthony'
Princely- Old Church Court

Founded by Mircea Ciobanul (1559), it is considered Bucharest's oldest
church. Assuming a neb-gothic appearance at the repairs done after the great fire
0f 1847 (architect I. Schatter), will be restored to its original form through the
interventions of 1914 (architect Gh. Lupu) and 1928-1935 (architect H. Theodoru).
The facades decorations is specific of the Wallachian 16th century religious
edifices, with apparent brick rows alternating with panels of
plaster. Remarkable carved stone portal (1715)."

and Wikipedia (visit link) adds

"This princely church was built by Mircea Ciobanul in 1559, and is the location of his grave. The church is "the oldest religious building maintained in its original aspect in Bucharest"."
