Benchmark set by the U.S. Geological Survey in 1929. The benchmark is located along the Cascade Lakes Hwy about 1.6 miles north of the junction to Lava Lake. There is no record of this benchmark in the NGS database but the location is shown on the USGS Elk Lake quadrangle. The cap is located 100 feet east of highway centerline in glaciated rock outcrop.
