“Walnut Grove won't be the same,” Town Clerk Kelly Hollingsworth said after the death of longtime Councilman and Fire Chief Alvin Goolsby.

"Goolsby, 67, died Wednesday. He had been diagnosed some time ago with acute myeloid leukemia, Hollingsworth said.

"This month marked Goolsby's 30th year as a Walnut Grove councilman. He supervised the town's volunteer fire department and had been its chief for almost that long." ~ GadsdenTimes.com October 22, 2014
