In Bath, south of the Bath Iron Works, is the Maine Maritime Museum.

The museum is located on Washington Street, about a quarter mile south of Bath Iron Works, and well south of the center of Bath. There is a parking lot at the main building as well as one further south.

You enter in the main building. There are several options available, so the price of admission varies. Generally, general admission is $15 (2015). There is a trolley bus tour that passes by the ironworks and a boat ride in the bay for extra fee.

The main building has various exhibits, including ship models, artwork, example equipment, and the gift shop. Once you exit out the side door, there are many other buildings and exhibits to see. Several buildings show equipment and machinery found in the shipyards. One was a house of one of the owners. One was an active woodshop where active work is done to build or restore wooden boats. One has an exhibit about lobstering. Then there is the large, multi-piece sculpture representing the five-masted schooner, Wyoming, which was the largest ship built on this property, launched in 1909.
