Sbor dobrovolných hasicu mesta Letovice byl založen v roce 1870 a za ta dlouhá léta, co se rozvíjel, se v nem vystrídalo nekolik generací a prestože se potýkal se spoustou problému, vždy to byl dobrý kolektiv. Snad je to práve ta dobrovolnost, která nás spojuje pri pomoci našim spoluobcanum v nouzi, nedbajíc denní doby, volna ci svátku.
