První písemná zmínka o obci pochází z roku 1247. Rudice byla založena jako hornická osada. V roce 1350 získal obec s tvrzí Herald z Kunštátu a Lysic. Vladyka Jakub z Rudice koupil rudický majetek roku 1414 a žil v Rudici dalších 40 let. Byl také držitelem erbu, který je dnes znakem obce.

The first written mention of the village dates from 1247. Rudice was founded as a mining settlement. In 1350 the village was awarded with a fortress Herald of Kunštát and Lysice. Bishop James of Rudice Rudická bought the property in 1414 and lived in Rudici 40 years. He was also the holder of a coat of arms, which is now a feature of the village.
