The Statue sits on the Henderson County Courthouse square. An Old Fiddler's Reunion has been held here every year since 1931. On Friday night, before the Contest, a jam session takes place on the Courthouse lawn at 7 p.m. all are welcome to join in.

From the Smithsonian website: A Male sitting with a fiddle tucked under his chin. The bow is held in his right hand as he prepares to play a tune. The sculpture sits on a pyramid of brick. Statue was erected in honor of the Annual Old Fiddler's Reunion held each May in Athens.
