From WAYMARK WMMEM2 hike cross-country, generally S and uphill to the corner. Based on field measured GPS UTM grid coordinates, the present sixteenth corner bears S1.0°E from T17S R9E S15 14 23 22 COR, 1339' distant.
Type of survey mark: X chiseled on a 2'x2'x6" rock with remnants of red paint

What indicators are near the mark to help people identify where it is located?:
In addition to a 4' length of wood lath, there are two NATIONAL FOREST WILDERNESS signs nailed to a tree above the chiseled stone, and a LAND SURVEY MONUMENT sign nailed to a tree which bears ENE, 72" distant. There is an 18" hemlock with a scribed blaze and a LAND SURVEY MONUMENT sign on the reverse side; the tree bears S, about 30' distant. Additional accessories are a PK nail in a 2'x2'x2' rock outcrop and a 3-1/4" aluminum cap on 5/8" rebar, stamped GPS 83 PLS 2396 2003 and driven flush with the ground. This cap is part of the control network for the survey.
