The plaque says, "First constructed in 1912 for a cost of $2,474.29, this building served as the lease office and headquarters for oil operations until 1999. During the early years, several improvements were made to the building, including the addition in 1920 of a 512 square-foot wing to serve as an Engineering Department. This win was removed in 1942 as transferred to the Santa Fe Springs Oil Field. Restrooms ere added in 1929 as was a parts and tool crib room in 1946."
