Heartland Park provides the following amenities:

Several green features are showcased at Heartland Park to protect natural resources and provide valuable habitat for wildlife, migrating birds and other aquatic creatures. Highlights include:

7-acre lake and stream buffer - flood control for 472 acres of drainage area
5 acres of meadows & 2,500 trees, shrubs, and flowers - wildlife habitat
Pervious pavements, rain gardens, and parking lot bioswales - innovative practices that improve water quality
Wetland forebay - keeps the lake clean by catching trash, soil, and debris
Walking tour with interpretive signs and two boardwalks to explore the park’s natural resource features

Future plans for Phase 2 include a concession stand, playground, and an outdoor nature learning area.
