Tovacov is surrounded by water and alluvial forest on three sides. According to legend, the castle was founded as a sanctuary for hunters. It was reconstructed as a renaissance chateau by the last of the Cimburks.
Almost one hundred meters high, the so-called "Graceful Tower" of the chateau offers a unique view of the town of Tovacov. The Lords of Cimburk in 14th century then redeveloped it into a Renaissance chateau. As well as thematic, temporary exhibitions, a particular attraction for visitors to the chateau is the entrance portal of the tower from 1492, distinguished as the oldest Italian Renaissance structure in Moravia. The left wing of the chateau includes a splendid copy of the Vienna Opera staircase, the chateau chapel with early Baroque stucco decoration, two large halls, an exhibition of the Lords of Gutmann and an exhibition of Ctibor Tovacovský of Cimburk.
