At the entrance to the Avondale Estate is the newer building, called Avondale Memorial SDA Church. As the older church was too small, even for use a hall. The church was established in 1897. The Avondale School is a couple of kilometres away.

The Memorial Church has a very active Pathfinder club, but I'm not sure how many have done the Geocaching 'merit badge'.
There is a fair amount of 'off-street' parking, available from Central Drive, behind and beside the Church.
I understand that on Sabbath, 12th July, 2014, that the Avondale Memorial SDA Church hosted Dr Ben Carson, respected paediatric neurosurgeon, from John Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, and that all were blessed by his sermon.
(Tho some were concerned by a passing statement of his, that he does not get to Church as regularly as he wishes.)
