V roce 1767, pred kostelem „ na míste pustém a poboreném, na kterém Barton Pešku bejval“ jak je uvedeno v purkrechtních registrech Babic, byla na náklady kláštera premonstrátu v Zábrdovicích pod patronací opata Krištofa Jirího Matušky postavena malá školní budova. Školní vyucování však bylo v Babicích zavedeno již v roce 1763 pri obnove farní správy a vyucovalo se provizorne v pronajaté svetnici v dome c.16 ctvrtláníka Kašpara Stavinohy. Nová školní budova mela šírku 9 metru a délku 19 metru, byla v ní jedna prostorná vyucovací trída a byt pro ucitele – jedna vetší místnost a kuchyne. Poducitel svuj byt nemel, nocoval ve vyucovací tríde. Do babické školy chodily deti z Babic, Kanic a Adamova. Pozdeji však budova nevyhovovala a ruzné opravy, prestavby a prístavby se provádely v letech 1812, 1816 a 1819.
Pred rokem 1866 mela škola stále jen jednu trídu a pro první trídu pronajímala obec od souseda Františka Sehnala c.p.16 jednu svetnici. V roce 1866 proto byla provedena prístavba školy dle plánu stavitele Synecka z Rousínova. Budova byla prodloužena o 9,5 metru, byla pristavena další trída, ucitel dostal k bytu ješte jednu menší místnost a pro poducitele byl zbudován samostatný byt. Stavbu provádel Antonín Ševcík, pulláník z Babic a stavba stála 3498 zlatých 45 krejcaru. Dozor nad školou a vyucováním do roku 1869 obstarávala biskupská konzistor a ta také místa ucitelská obsazovala. Škola tak byla podrízena duchovní správe. Jedovnický dekan byl zároven školdozorcem a také místní farár byl dohlížitelem nad školním vyucováním i nad chováním žáku.
V roce 1906 byla predána k užívání nová školní budova a došlo k úprave budovy staré školy. Jedna školní trída byla uvolnena pro zasedání obecního zastupitelstva a obecní knihovnu. Ve zbytku budovy byla zrízena požární zbrojnice a jeden nouzový obecní byt. Požární zbrojnice sem byla presunuta z drevené kulny, kterou sbor užíval od svého založení v roce 1893 a která stávala v míste dnešní horní autobusové zastávky. Tuto kulnu sbor užíval až do roku 1922, kdy byla zbourána z duvodu úpravy silnice do Krtin. V roce 1938 byla od firmy Svet zakoupena poplachová siréna a umístena na strechu zbrojnice. Bylo to nemalou merou zaprícineno i stále se horšící situací v Evrope, nástupem fašismu v Nemecku a proto se s využitím sirény pocítalo i v rámci protiletadlové obrany.
V této podobe stála tato budova až do roku 1957, kdy byla polovina její nejstarší cásti z roku 1767 zbourána pro zlepšení výhledu v zatácce na návsi. Ubouralo se 9,2 metru. Na této akci meli nejvetší podíl bratr Vladimír Kotas, tehdejší velitel a bratr Ladislav Pidra starší, tehdejší predseda. Zároven s opravou budovy byla pro sbor uvolnena bývalá místnost obecní rady. Tyto stavební práce se provádely v letech 1956 - 1958 a vyžádaly si náklady ve výši 16300 Kc. V roce 1961, jedno nedelní ráno, však prišli soudruzi s náradím, bez predchozího upozornení místnost vystehovali pred vrata zbrojnice a vytrhali tam podlahu. Po ohrazení se na MNV bylo hasicum oznámeno, že rada MNV rozhodla zrídit v této místnosti holírnu. Pravým duvodem však byla obava soudruhu, že výchova a kroužek mladých hasicu, který v té dobe velice dobre prosperoval, by se mohl zacít ubírat nežádoucím smerem. Do malé místnosti byla navíc po dobu opravy budovy pošty nastehována poštovna. Po príslibu, že sboru zustane po opetovném stehování k dispozici telefon, clenové sboru pri úpravách maximálne pomáhali. Z duvodu dlouhodobých problému s vodou, byla v letech 1968 - 1969 u požární zbrojnice, v míste zbourané cásti budovy, vybudována podzemní nádrž o obsahu 28 m³. Tím se výrazne zvýšila zásoba vody urcená pro požární úcely. Ostatní zdroje vody v obci totiž byly v té dobe z hlediska požárních úcelu naprosto nedostatecné. Kolem roku 1972 byla na budove instalována civilní obranou nová siréna, stávající siréna z roku 1938 byla opravena. Na další rekonstrukci si budova musela pockat do roku 1989-1990 kdy byla opravena venkovní fasáda.
S politickými zmenami po roce 1989 to však s hasickou a i samotnými hasici zacalo vypadat velice špatne. Pomerne velký nezájem ze strany obecního zastupitelstva se na cinnosti sboru hluboce podepsal. Obrat k lepšímu nastal až po zvolení p. Miroslava Martykána starostou obce a jmenováním bratra Petra Kheila velitelem zásahové jednotky sboru. Tento mladý hasic z povolání dal dohromady pár zapálených lidí, kterí se nyní již s podporou obecního zastupitelstva znovu vrhli do práce. Od roku 2004 až do roku 2010 se tak tato budova pomerne intenzivne mení. Jako první prišla na radu klubovna a vstupní chodba. Byla zde vybudována toaleta, položeny nové podlahy, rozvody vody a elektrické energie, opraveny omítky a stropy, samozrejme vcetne vymalování. Další „nechtenou“ stavební úpravou musela projít garáž. Sen mnoha generací babických hasicu se totiž stal v tomto roce skutecností. Zásahová jednotka byla vybavena automobilem s cisternou o obsahu 3500 litru. Podlaha v garáži však neodolala tonáži vozidla CAS 25, propadla se asi o 5 centimetru a z tohoto duvodu musela být rekonstruována. Poté se stavební práce presunuly do provozovny holicství. Místnost také prošla kompletní rekonstrukcí a od té doby slouží jako provozovna holicství, kadernictví, pedikúry a masáží. Soubežne s temito pracemi prišla na radu i strecha, která z duvodu zcela nevyhovujícího stavu strešní konstrukce potrebovala celkovou opravu. Rekonstrukce zapocala rozebráním podlah a demontáží krovu. Do konstrukce stropu byly vsazeny ocelové nosníky, které byly prekryty trapézovými plechy a vytvorily základ pro odlití betonové podlahy. Poté došlo k demolici bocních štítu, stavbe nových štítu s okny a k celkovému navýšení obvodového zdiva. Následovala výstavba nového krovu se zvýraznenými vikýri a veží pro sušení hadic. Hasici tak dostali k dispozici vysoce úcelové zázemí – šatnu, sklad, kancelár, kompletní sociální zarízení a spolecenskou místnost s kuchynkou. Obecní zastupitelstvo zde má k dispozici i nouzový dvoulužkový pokoj. V samotném podkroví však ješte vznikla prostora i pro nouzové ubytování približne 20 osob, které by vlivem mimorádné události prišly o strechu nad hlavou. Celková rekonstrukce budovy pak byla završena novou, barevne výraznou fasádou. Pri slavnostním dnu otevrených dverí na hasicce v zárí 2010 se s úpravami mohli seznámit všichni obyvatelé Babic.

On the next reconstruction a building had to wait until 1989-1990 when it was repaired outside facade.

Reconstruction began dismantling and removing the truss floors. To the ceiling structure were embedded steel bars, which were covered with profiled steel sheet and formed the basis for casting concrete floors. Then came the demolition of the side shields, the shields with the construction of new windows and an overall increase in the external walls. Followed by the construction of the new truss was highlighted dormers and towers for drying hoses. Firefighters and got a highly specialized facilities - dressing room, warehouse, office, full bathroom and lounge with kitchenette. The municipal council here has even emergency double room. At the very top floor but there was space for emergency housing about 20 people, which could influence emergencies lost their homes. A total renovation of the building was then crowned the new, colorfully expressive facade.
