The "experience path" near Titterten has several interactive stations dealing with different scientific principles.
This one is called the olfactory organ. It is located in the west of town near a beehouse. The sign explains the importance of odors to insects, especially bees.
At the olfactory organ you can try yourself. Six black boxes on a bar contain some typical odors like hay, blossoms, fir needles and others.
You can open a small window and smell what is inside. The correct answer is covered at the back side of each box.
Scientific Principle(s) being demonstrated: natural odors and how to distinguish them
Briefly explain if the experiment was effective for you. Could it have been better?: Some are easy to identify, but others require some more experience.
When is the apparatus/experiment available to the public: 24/7 in theory, but you need some daylight to find the path.
