Le mouvement Emmaüs est un ensemble d’associations et groupements de solidarité présents dans 39 pays. La première communauté Emmaüs, d'inspiration initialement chrétienne a été fondée en France par l’abbé Pierre, en 1949. Les divers groupes Emmaüs actuels, en France et à l'étranger, sont sans attache religieuse et ont pour objet la lutte contre la pauvreté et l'exclusion, par des moyens divers et adaptés au contexte des pays où ils se trouvent. La majorité d'entre eux ont une activité économique, souvent basée sur la récupération et le réemploi, mais pas exclusivement.



The Emmaus movement is a set of associations and solidarity groups present in 39 countries. The first Emmaus community of Christian inspiration originally was founded in France by Abbé Pierre in 1949. The various existing Emmaus groups in France and abroad, are no religious attachment and are designed to the fight against poverty and exclusion, by various means and context of the countries where they are. The majority of them are economically active, often based on recovery and reuse, but not exclusively.
