Fairhaven Elementary schooled children from the Stewart Lennox area for many decades (at least since 1945, which was the earliest mention I could find online). As part of the boundary realignment agreement between the Klamath County School District and Klamath Falls City Schools, students from Fairhaven were transferred to other city and county district elementary schools and Fairhaven closed its doors in June, 2009. Altamont Elementary, located in the City of Klamath Falls also closed their doors at the same time. Triad, a private Christian-based school, is currently leasing the Altamont school building.
In 2011, the United Family Fellowship Church purchased the school and spent two years remodeling the interior to make the campus its new home. The church held its first service July 20th, 2014 and on October 12, the church changed its name to Fairhaven Church of God with respect to the name of the old school that once occupied the building.
