"Gunars Katkevica (born July 13, 1946 CIBL) - circus artist, acrobat.
Katkevica started work as an arena laborer with the Riga Circus. Later, the artist studied at the Moscow Circus and Stage School and Theatre directing department of the Circus Institute.
Since 1968, he was the only the Baltic countries Circus Chief Director, and after a year he became a Director of the Institute.
In 1970 he became world famous with his number "Fantasy in the air".
He was awarded the Latvian SSR People's artist of honor for his work as a performance artist.
He died on February 2, 2007."
