This mark is cut into the stonework of St Peter's Church on the east side of North Hill in Colchester. The church has medieval origins but underwent major re-modelling in 1758 and again in 1895-96.

The mark is, generally, in good condition but has suffered from some minor weathering. It is easy to locate at the north west corner of the church's tower.
