The cemetery was used by the Dominican Order in Dongara from 1902 to 1971. The grave of the founder of the order in Western Australia, Reverend Mother Gill was located in this cemetery. In September 1998 the headstones were removed and the remains of the deceased were re-interred in Karrakatta Cemetery. The former cemetery is a small walled area with a metal gate. There is tree lined path from Priory Lodge (the original Dominican Priory) to the cemetery.
