Organizations also contributed, providing funds for the purchase of property and for construction. On arena was built almost immediately, in 1948. Other improvements included a baseball field, a football field, a recreational hall and rodeo grounds. In 1962 the Park added additional land and a community hall. In 1986, the Harper Pioneer Museum opened on the grounds. Many noted Harper residents have served on the Park Board.
