I recovered this U.S. Geologicial Survey benchmark from 1932 in good condition. It is a standard brass disk monumented in a low-lying boulder at a slant and projects about two inches above the ground. There is a wooden stick near the disk that acts as a witness post. There is also a juniper tree that has been cut down near the disk and its trunk which stands about five feet tall is a good landmark to look for in recovering this station. This disk does not appear in the NGS database but is listed on a topography map as 'DORRIS 4692'.

To reach this station from the town of Dorris, take Picard Rd heading west. Turn right on MrGudich Rd, a dirt road heading north. MrGudich Rd turns into Wildgoose Rd. Take a left on Wildgoose Rd and it becomes Lazo Lane turning north. Follow Lazo Lane north until you reach Hilltop Rd. Turn left on Hilltop Rd and follow it until you reach a junction where a dirt road turns right (Horseshoe Trail). You may park here and then hike west towards the station.
