This sign is one of 22 along Water Street on the west side of the Sutton County Courthouse. This sign preserves the history of the George S. Allison family, who arrived in Sutton County in 1885.

The sign reads as follows:

"Settled in Sutton County December, 1885
GEORGE S ALLISON & WIFE, MARGARET THORNHILL

with five children: John, Will, Curt, Dona, and H. P. “Buster”.
Other children born in Sonora, Sutton County: Kerry, Clara, Joe, Tot, Dolly, and Sam.
